I’m hanging up my passport for a while and sticking to CONUS. Washington DC, NYC, and LA are all possibilities. Shorter excursions of ten days or maybe two weeks. I’ll be keeping an eye out for interesting exhibitions too.
Travel for its own sake – for adventure, novelty, unfamiliar geography, for the jolt and juice that comes from exploring strange cultures and environs – is not the itch I want to scratch. I have enough inspiration from the last five trips to last me a score of years. What I want now is time for metal work and painting, time to take workshops to develop my skills, the luxury of extended time to consider and create.
If I need fresh air, the Appalachian Blue Ridge and Carolina coast line have strong appeal. For now, you will find me in my home shop and studio.
